Daniel Calantropio Named Week 3 Pitcher of the Week

Essex Legends pitcher Daniel Calantropio delivered a standout outing last Tuesday against the New Jersey Sugar Kings, throwing six scoreless innings in a 7-0 shutout victory. The Stevens Institute of Technology product allowed just three soft-contact hits, struck out six batters and showed excellent command on the mound throughout.

In three appearances this season, the sophomore is 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA, fifth best in the league. The righty has given up six runs in 14 innings of work, while walking 11 and striking out seven. Those seven punchouts are fifth among Legends pitchers this summer.
